Achilles heel Question?

Author: Has anyone tried the Inferno Wrap for an injured achilles tendon?
What was your results? I have never had any type of injury-it only happened when I jogged with my niece. I noticed it was a teeny bit sore during my speed walking exercise on the treadmill lately before I went jogging. I use to jog for 8 miles a day and I never had any pain. I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary at all…except that I am in my 50’s now and haven’t jogged in a while. I am not overweight.
I have NO PAIN AT ALL when I speed walk on my treadmill but it hurts if I try to hike on rough terrain or run.

I hope I can get this cleared up. I can’t stand to think of myself as over the hill. I have so much energy and I do not want it to go to waste. I have been wearing very low heeled shoes. I need to invest in some very supportive running shoes as well from what I understand.
So how many times do I need to switch back and forth from heat to ice, ice to heat? I also was wondering if I need some type of supplements to help it heal.

After I stop running for a period of time, it’s hard for me to get back into running shape also. I have a problem with my achilles, but I find the best way to prevent injury, or heal it (including shin splints) is to ice and put a heating pad on it after every time you work out on it. I know it sounds silly and redundant, but every time you work out your achilles is simply injuring itself again and again and again. SO ice and heat, every time.
If the pain is in the upper back of the heel, it could be Achilles tendonitis, a condition that involves the inflammation of the Achilles tendon. The Achilles Tendon is the longest tendon in the body, and its main function is to connect the calf muscles to the heel bone behind the ankle joint. When the calf muscles contract, they pull on the Achilles Tendon, causing your foot to point down and helping you rise on your toes. Achilles pain occurs just above the back of the heel. Sufferers of this condition also experience tightness in the calf muscles. The Achilles Tendon may be noticeably thickened and tender to the touch in this area. Pain is present when walking, especially when pushing off on the toes.
One of the most common causes for Achilles Tendonitis is the flattening of the arches also known as excessive pronation. When the feet roll inwards and the lower leg is forced to rotate internally, it creates a tearing force on the calf muscles. Since the calf muscles are connected to the Achilles tendon, it turns out to be the ‘weakest link’ in the chain. The Achilles tendon ends up being overstretched, resulting in irritation and inflammation.
