Achilles tendon injury/tendonitas? please help?
About a month ago I started some rigerous trainnig for track by running up hills, and my achillies started hurting from it. I didn’t think it was that big of a deal but after another practice i coulden’t even get on my toes. Now its still pretty bad and its not getting any better. I still can’t run but now its getting really hard to walk and I almost have a limp. I’ve tried lots of things but none of them seem to be working, ice, heat, electrostim, ultrasound, pain meds, and even a cast for a week and a half. I don’t know if I should start a rehab program because it might reaggrivate it. Recently it has started to creak when I flex it back and fourth, almost audibly. if anyone has any suggestions please let me know because this is really killing me, thank you

go to your dr.
It sounds like you must be doing physical therapy for the ultrasound etc. I am presuming you have already seen a podiatrist? If not, you need to see your primary care physician for a referral to a podiatrist. Your podiatrist should be able to prescribe more physical therapy for you if that is what he or she decides you need. For Achilles tendinitis, there are also range of motion exercises that you can do which may be beneficial. In some cases, surgery is required. Have you ever been dispensed an ankle brace or boot for your foot? Sometimes those modalities help before considering surgery.
Please make an appointment right away with a podiatrist, and if you are already seeing one, let him know that you are still having problems and that it is not resolved.
