Achilles tendon issues. :c?
A while back I started a new job and I needed a pair of black shoes. I got some cute flats but after two days of wearing them, the back of my heel/Achilles tendon area started having a very sharp pain in it whenever I would walk. I’ve since stopped wearing them, but pretty much any shoe makes that area hurt now. I eventually found a pair of shoes that don’t put any pressure there, but now they’re the only shoes that I can wear and that’s no good! Any ideas on what it could be or how to stop the problem so that I can wear regular shoes again?!
Edit::
It’s right where the top part of the back of the shoes hit my tendon area . . It doesn’t hurt when I’m not wearing shoes, walking or not. It’s only on my right foot.

As a Podiatrist your first problem is wearing flats in the first plalce. I know they are the cool shoes to wear but from a medicinal standpoint they are horrible for your arches, Plantar Fascia Tendon and your lower back.
Hello,
From your description it is very hard to tell exactly what is causing the pain in your heel.
It can be anything from “Haglunds Deformity” to a nerve related issue.
If you can answer these questions I will be able to give you a better diagnosis and a possible treatment:
1) Where exactly is the pain located in your heel?
2) Does it also hurt when you are not walking?
3) Is there any redness or swelling visible?
4) Is it sensitive to the touch?
5) Is it painful in both feet?
6) Do you have high or low arches in your feet?
What you should do for now is ice your heel at least 4 times a day.
You should also try and avoid wearing flat shoes – wearing shoes with orthotics can help.
If you don’t have orthotics then you can buy off the counter gel heel pads to put in your shoes.
I also advise you to stretch your legs and feet before getting out of bed in the morning and after sitting down for a long period of time.
Again, if you can answer my questions above I will be able to help you better.
You can write to me directly if you prefer, my email is in my profile.
Good luck and feel better!
