how can i not be so sore after riding?
ok, so i have been riding since i was five and about once a week for the past three years, last summer i rode twice a week, i just started to play tennis as well so im getting in shape for that, i Just got my first horse a few weeks ago, and this mare’s got a lot of “go” so i ride her almost every day, light most of the days and then ride her hard on the days where i haven’t rode her for a while (i board her at a barn near my house) i ride saddle seat, do Little “jockey- position”(similar to two point) to align my legs and i just started cantering her yesterday. i maybe feel Little sore after i’m done riding and getting my chores done around the barn but then the next day i feel like i got hit by a truck, i’ve got tendinitis on my right ankle, my left knee and now my right rotate cuff on my shoulder ( the hand/arm/shoulder i use most in tennis.) what can i do to be less sore after riding? like getting in shape stuff like that. no nasty answers please!
Foot Pain/Injury After Running?
Okay so I am a distance runner in cross country season at the moment. We are a very serious team running every single day ranging between 6 and 15 miles a day. I know overtraining causes injury but my coach is insistant on this training schedule and I guess our team just bears it for a few months. My past injuries include lower back problems, runners knee (tendonitis in my patella), and my current problems include IT band syndrome, shin splints (but ive had them for 2 and a half years now), posterior tibial tendonitis, and now this foot pain. I have been researching online and I am not sure what I have. It’s on the forefront of my foot I believe, and if you go from the knobby ankle bone on the outside of the foot and go straight towards the toes about 2 in, there are a cluster of tendons or ligaments or something there and that’s where the pain is. It’s like the little squishy part of the foot (that’s the only other way I can describe it. It’s swollen right now and has been for about 12 hours. I ran in a meet, if anyone knows Manhattan Invite that was the meet, and it didn’t hurt during the race but it started hurting during my cooldown and has hurt since. I can walk on it if I put the weight on the outside of my foot, but not if I am walking normally. It also hurts to move it in a circle. That’s all I can think of, If you have any ideas please tell me I need to make it throught another month and a half of the season. Also, if it will help at all I do pronate, but I got custom orthotics when I was diagnosed with the tibial tendonitis (and It actually made that go away). Possibilities I found online were anterior tibial tendoinitis or just an ankle sprain/strain, but I wasn’t exactly sure if where my foot it and where those tendons/ligaments are matched up. Thanks for your help, sorry this was so long.

After escaping damaging defeat against Young Boys in midweek, Tottenham were bailed out again. Make that Gareth Baled out. Spurs survived an added-time scare.
Is it risky to play squash after broken ankle. Is squash good cardio excersise!?
I broke my ankle just over a year ago (nearly 14 months) and i still get pains there! i wonder is there a weakness still even tho the doctors say its healed. I had 1 physio session. I also snapped a tendon or ligament cant remember which. My achilles heal hurts sometimes, just aches. Ive put on almost 50lbs since breaking my leg and am fatter than ever, I weigh over 280lbs now(i am 6′4). I want to start playing squash to burn off some excess flab. I did play before and was good. If i buy and wear an ankle support thing(to wear the first few weeks to hopefully strengthen it up), im not likely to break it again am i?
What to do after being stung 10 times by mud wasps?
I was stung 10 times by blue mud wasps, all within probably five seconds. They were all on my Achilles tendons, both legs. I have 6 on the right, 4 on the left. I am not in any way allergic, but I have never felt pain until I felt the venom of 10 stings from them. There are no stingers left in me since those wasps don’t loose their stingers. This was about two hours ago. The most swelling is probably all of a 16th inch high bump around each sting. It burned and hurt so bad I walked into the house 20 feet away and collapsed, I couldn’t stand. These wasps were on steroids or something. I am a big, robust guy and they got me so bad, the pain made me fall to the ground. After about 15 minutes of terrible, unbelievable pain, it finally went down. It stung and hurt at a managable magnitude. From there it just went down to where it is now, feeling like I am constantly being stabbed with needles. What to do from here? I did no treatment of any kind.
I still have some swelling after breaking my ankle 5 weeks ago. Is this normal?
I broke my ankle in 2 places on August 1st
I fractured the Talus bone, and chipped the end of the Tibia where it connects to the foot.
My talus fracture can only be seen on a CT scan (it’s way in there).
My pain is and has been manageable
I have been able to stand after 2 weeks
After 3 weeks the cast came off and was given a walking cast that allows flexion and extension of the ankle on a limited allowance. (15 degrees each way)
I can walk fine and do stairs- even without the boot.
What concerns me is that I still swell up every morning. Mainly surrounding the Achilles tendon, and on the outer-front of the ankle. (on the pinky-toe side of the ankle)
The swelling goes down while I sleep with it elevated- but not even 5 minutes after I get up- it swells up again. Not terribly, but noticeable. It seems to only go away after sleep.
Is this normal?
Swelling remains after a broken ankle… 5 weeks into the healing, is this normal?

Is there a blood supply issue with the talus bone possibly? I read an article regarding talus fractures and learned that blood supply is an issue when there is a fracture.
top of foot and ankle hurt after running?
hi, I am 18 years old. i have a problem sprinting around the block (555 m perimeter – measured with google earth lol)
So, around 4-5 times a week i sprint around the aforementioned block once or twice in order to help my sinus problems. I go full speed. I do not get tired at all. However, around mid way, my ankles and feet begin to pain, especially the left one. By the time i reach the end of the lap, I cannot move my foot up (i can stand on my toes-still very painful-but I can’t point my left foot upwards). So basically, I can barely walk after this – as my right foot hurts and my left foot severely hurts. I used to be flat footed, but got rid of it through yoga exercises my grandma taught me. However, my arches are still low and i consider them weak (hard for me to stand on one foot sometimes even). I was thinking that the Achilles tendon in my left foot especially may be short? Or maybe my gait is wrong? Another thing is that when i wake up in the morning, my ankles and feet are very stiff. One last thing, when i compare the arches on my feet, the right one is higher than the left one. Is that bad?
By the way, this pain doesnt really happen after say I play an hour of basketball then go sprinting. But it does also happen when i jog at a medium pace for half a mile and up.
What can be the problem and is there any way to fix this?
thank you very much for any help
I can provide other details that may help too.
Excessive ankle popping long after injury healed?
Last year I felt a sharp pain in my ankle when I was walking. There was no noise or feeling of tearing or snapping, so I thought it was just a sprain. After reading a bit on ankle injuries, it kind of sounds like it could have been a partial achilles tendon rupture, but it might have just been a sprain. About two weeks after this happened my ankle started popping alot with movement. Its been about 9 months now, and even right now when I move my ankle around or walk there’s a few fairly loud pops with each movement. No pain associated with it. The ankle feels stable, although I haven’t tried working out since this happened. Any ideas what this could be from? I read that surgery is the best way to repair ruptured tendons ( assuming that’s what I had happen ) but that you have to get it done right away, and self healed tendons are usually susceptible to recurring ruptures. Is there any point in going to get this looked at even though it’s been 9 months since it happened?
knee catches/pain after sitting cross legged (indian style)?
whenever i sit indian style for a while (30+ minutes) and i stand up, sometimes my knee catches and it HURTS. it hurts so bad that it’s hard to pin point exactly where it hurts worst, but i think it’s in the back of my knee.
the weird thing is it usually only lasts about 10-15 seconds, so i just have to hold really still with no weight on that leg until it goes away. then it’s stiff for 30 minutes or so and then i don’t feel anything anymore.
obviously i should stop sitting like that and i’m working on it (it’s a habbit) but anyone have any idea what that could be? i just think it’s so strange that it comes and goes so quickly. i’m pretty active. i run a lot, play soccer and coach a college cheerleading squad where i’m spotting kids on tumbling (flips) and neither of my knees bother me much at all when i do that stuff.
and just for a reference of how badly it hurts when it does this: if the time i tore my achilles tendon in half was a 10, this knee thing would be a 7-8.
and yes, i know if it gets bad i should go to the doctor, so don’t tell me that. i’m just looking for suggestions of people who have possibly experienced the same thing or know someone who has.
Vera, i sit like this all the time. that’s why i said it’s a habbit i need to break. but i don’t get this pain every time. stiffness usually if i’ll sit completely still for that long, but this is a really bad pain. and i don’t sit like that constantly. i move around a lot and switch legs, etc.
and to the person who said this is caused by my being overweight… you obviously didn’t read the entire question.
