13 weeks, and my ankles seem swollen, help please?

Last week, my right ankle seemed swollen, so I went to the Urgent Care, and got examined by a doctor. He took my blood pressure, it was perfect he said, and after taking a look at my ankle, he told me it was tendinitis, due to the fact that the swelling is only in one ankle, and my BP was perfect, he also said that pre- eclpampsia is more likely in the 3rd trimester.

So this afternoon, I was laying outside, watching my son in the pool, and noticed that my other ankle is swollen (the swelling from the other one disappeared for about a week, but now it’s slightly swollen again, along with the other one).

Is this a cause for concern?
Should I go back to the doctor tomorrow, or just wait till my next Obstetrician appt on August 25th?

Help!

What to expect from Physical Therapy for my ankles and shins?

I have tendinitis in my ankles and I had a bad case of shin splints. X-ray shows that my shins are normal, but since they still hurt I may have a stress fracture. My doctor recommended me to rest for two more weeks and do physical therapy before I get a bone scan, because I may not have stress fracture. After 2 weeks it’ll be a total of 5 weeks that I’m unable to run. I just want to start running again because I’m already 3 weeks late into my XC season.

So what would I expect from Physical Therapy?
What are some things they will do/I may have to do?

Gimpy ankles tendons in the morning?

Hello all,

Just a question. I am a 27-year-old woman and I am wondering if this is normal. Whenever I go to bed or say I am napping whether its a 1 hour nap or I am getting up from a nights sleep I have to hobble out of bed until I get moving more–this has been going on for the last couple of months it almost feels kind of like tendonitis in the ankles, however my calves are so tight when I first get up that they hurt to move as well…I mean I am not 18 but I am not old either is this normal you think or is it just from being stiff from sleeping through the night? cause once i get moving around I can walk just fine and stuff.

just curious–thanks–Jammiegirl

29 year old male with swollen ankles?

I have recently had knee pain most likely caused by my jogging and tendinitis then last night when I took off my knee braces I noticed that my ankles were swollen. The swelling is not severe, but is noticeable. Could someone please provide me some insight and if needed I can give additional details. Anyway, I’m somewhat worried and need to know what I should do. Thank you all in advance.

why do my ankles hurt when i wear ballet flats?

my dad (a doctor) said its peroneal tendinitis…idk wat that is!!! if ne one knows… TELL ME i miss my flats!

My ankles started to hurt/swell 6 wks ago. After 4 wks phys ther. they still hurt.& now my wrists are stiff. y?

I havn’t seen the Dr. about the wrists yet. They thought the ankle problem was tendonitis. The top of my feet hurt at the joint, my ankles swell alternately on the insides or outsides or both, and now my wrists hurt (the left started 3 days ago and now the right side has joined in. Later in the day I get migrating body aches (very deep aches) in asymetrical fashion throughout my body. I was told those pains are probably stress. Anyone have any ideas?

Is This Just Tendonitis in My Ankles, or Something Else?

I’m sorry that this long, but it would help a lot if you read it all. please and thank you(:
I used to play soccer, but now I play basketball, although the season is over and I haven’t played in awhile. I am still semi-active, just not particularly now during the summer.

When I am walking for a good distance or running, (sometimes just sitting, too) I get a soreness in my ankles. Usually my left one is worse. It actually feels better to move it around in place to subside the soreness/stiffness that I get. Although there are some occasions where I actually get a sharp pain that really hurts. Otherwise, it’s usually just a weak feeling.. Sometimes it even feels better to crack my ankles for some reason.

I have been to several doctors, including orthopedics. They always tell me the same thing… wear inserts in your shoes, and they give me a prescription medication that reduces swelling and pain. (such a naproxen). While the medicine may help for the couple of weeks I am on it, it does not help for long. The inserts really don’t help much either.
I have been told that I may just have tendonitis, but now I wonder. By the way, I am a 14 year old female. Please, Please, Please give me your input and personal experiences if you have any.
All help is greatly appreciated.
