Can Anyone Tell Me What Is Wrong!?

I’m sorry that this is long, but it would help a lot if you read it all. please and thank you(:
I used to play soccer, but now I play basketball, although the season is over and I haven’t played in awhile. I am still semi-active, just not particularly now during the summer.

When I am walking for a good distance or running, (sometimes just sitting, too) I get a soreness in my ankles. Usually my left one is worse. It actually feels better to move it around in place to subside the soreness/stiffness that I get. Although there are some occasions where I actually get a sharp pain that really hurts. Otherwise, it’s usually just a weak feeling.. Sometimes it even feels better to crack my ankles for some reason.

I have been to several doctors, including orthopedics. They always tell me the same thing… wear inserts in your shoes, and they give me a prescription medication that reduces swelling and pain. (such a naproxen). While the medicine may help for the couple of weeks I am on it, it does not help for long. The inserts really don’t help much either.
I have been told that I may just have tendonitis, but now I wonder. I have had an x-ray and an MRI about 2 and a half years ago when the problem first started and all came back normal, but since then the pain has gotten worse. By the way, I am a 14 year old female. Please, Please, Please give me your input and personal experiences if you have any.
All help is greatly appreciated.

Can anyone tell me what’s wrong with my knees/ankles?! D:?

I am dying to know what is wrong with the joints in my knees and ankles, or at least, I think it’s my joints. I can’t really explain, but every once in a while, sometimes once a week, my knees and/or ankles cause me pain. It feels like I constantly have to crack them, but when I try, it does nothing. This has happened to me for the longest time. I’m a 16 year old (girl), and I can remember being around 8 having this problem. I thought maybe it was Tendonitis? But I’m not completely sure. Usually when I go to bed with the pain, it goes away the next morning. However, last night it hurt more than usual. This morning, I can’t even sleep because I can’t get comfortable with the pain. Please, anyone… any ideas?! D:

Does anyone know about tendinitis?

I went to the Orthopedic Dr. for ankle and foot pain. Ive had this pain for about 6 months and it was caused by something falling onto my foot. Since I did not have insurance nobody was willing to take a look at it. So I just dealt with it. I got a splint from walgreens and used it as needed. Well now the pain is so bad no matter what Iam doing( even kicking the blanket off at night causes a horrible pain.) Seeing how ive been hurting for so long I do not really limp from it anymore. although I do get pain. Well the Dr I went to was a complete A**. He said since Im not limping, that im not in pain meaning nothing is really wrong with me. He did xrays just to check and it showed no broken bones. He said he thinks its tendinitis and gave me Voltaren Xr 100mg and told me to take it every day for a month and sent me on my way. and also to make sure i wear shoes ALL the time except when i shower. Sorry but im not sleeping in shoes!!Do you think this is the right treatment and should give it a try or should i seek a 2nd opinion

Does anyone know of an in-patient eating disorder clinic that is Christian based & free or low-cost?

I have had an eating disorder for almost 16 yrs. now & I’ve been looking a long time for a treatment center, but haven’t found one I could afford. It shouldn’t be this hard 2 find help. I’ve been in counseling since I was 19yrs. old, but it’s not enough. Now, I am unable to go to counseling b/c I have chronic achilles tendonitis & I resprain my ankles all the time. My counselor told me they would get better if my e.d. got better b/c I’ve turned to cleaning binges, (my last cleaning binge was 17hrs.) since recovering painful memories & this is why I keep reinjuring my ankles. So, getting help for my e.d. is essential to helping me get better physically and emotionally. Right now, my ankles are so bad, I don’t even leave my house. I spend most of my days in bed. I tried to start phys. therapy last wk. & it resprained my ankles b/c they were too weak. Now, I am spraining my feet & pain has begun in my toes as of last wk. They get worse & worse. I’m killing myself. Please help me.
I live in Nebraska, but I am willing to go anywhere as long as I can afford it. This one place was free and I was going to go, but I found out they had an age limit of 28yrs. and I was too old.

Has anyone ever had this injury?posterior tibial tendon disorder?

I rolled my ankle while walking in February in the snow an was later diagnosed with tendonitis in my tibial tendon. I was in a walking boot for 3 months with minimal time on my feet. I am a dance teacher and taught dance from a chair for three months (yuck) Anyways, I did the whole physical therapy thing for 4 months and that helped a lot, but it is still hurting, not as bad, but the pain is still there and I can’t jump on it yet. As a teacher I am on my feet for 5-10 hours a day(classes just started again yesterday. I have been off of it the whole summer as well) I also have foot orthotics in my shoes that helps support my arch, and I wear them with my dance shoes. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this injury and didn’t have surgery on it…how long did it take for your tendon to completely heal? And do you have any tips other than ibuprofen and ice for healing?

Has anyone heard of “the nightshades diet” for chronic pain?

I am reading the, “Pain Free In 6 Weeks”, by Sherry Rogers and am trying the nightshades diet. You have to eliminated all hydrogenated oils and all tomato and potato products, along with peppers, cayenne pepper, and paprika. I’ve been on it for one week for my chronic achilles tendonitis, among other things, and so far no luck. I just reinjured my ankles, possibly sprained them, two days ago. So, I am very frustrated and really wanting to talk to anyone who knows anything about this diet. If anyone is on this diet or knows about it, please email me.
Just to clarify, you have to eliminate all peppers from your diet, including some spices, cayenne pepper and paprika must be eliminated along with anything that lists the word, “spice”, because it actually stands for up to 30 differernt things and they aren’t all spices.

Can anyone explain MRI terminology?

I have to wait for my doctor to explain my MRI but I’m having trouble deciphering some of the medical terminology. Can anyone help?
I stepped off a curb in January, had a couple of fractures that healed but still had pain and ankle locking up. I finally had an MRI and here are portions of the MRI that I wasn’t sure about:
Joint Fluid: No significant effusion. Borderline synovitis. Mild soft tissue inflammation surrounding the ankle.
Ankle Mortise: No osteochondral lesion.
Muscle and Tendon: Inflammation partially surrounds the posterior tibialis and peroneal tendons. Flexor hallucis longus, flexor digitorum longus, Achilles and extensor tendons are intact and unremarkable.
Ligaments: Abnormal anterior talofibular and calcaneofibular ligaments, consistent with tear and attempted fibrotic repair. Anterior talofibular ligament intact. Deltoid and spring ligaments intact.
Subtalar Joint: Mild inflammation. No interosseous ligament disruption or coalition.
Plantar Fascia: Borderline thickening at the calcaneus. Questionable early calcaneal spur.
Findings consistent with old tears of the anterior talofibular and calcaneofibular ligaments and secondary early fibrosis. Soft tissue inflammation surrounding the ankle, also surrounds the posterior tibialis and peroneal tendons.
Thanks so much – I’m hoping this can tell them something and what we should do next! I’m ready to feel better!

Anyone had anything similar occur to them? Similar symptoms? Anything? I’m at a loss.?

Alright. Some background information. About a month and a half ago I went to my doctor for terrible lower back pain (mind you I’m only 19) and some abdominal discomfort, headache and fatigue. She diagnosed me with a sinus infection and adenovirus. She said it may take awhile but I should improve. Finally my headache and abdominal pain stopped, but my achilles tendons started aching along with the sides and soles of my feet.I attributed this to my flat feet and went on. The next day I started feeling very nauseated. (No before you ask no chance of pregnancy.) Now I’ve been dealing with constant nausea and fatigue for almost 2 months. Along with the aches. But last night was slightly different and shook me up a bit. Around 3:30 in the morning I awoke feeling as though I was about to be sick, I rushed to the bathroom. I stood in there awhile and my face sudenly became hot, I started to profusly drip sweat and became very dizzy.I almost vomited. Any ideas? Everyone still thinks its Adeno!
I forgot to mention that. I took a pregnancy test, there was no possible way I could’ve been but I did anyways. It was negative and I started last week.

I usually check my blood sugar often. Diabetes runs in my family. Last night it was 96. Which I don’t believe is too bad for 3 in the morning. Thanks for the info! It’s all greatly appreciated!

So I went to a different doctor today. He is thinking Addison’s Disease. Which I have never heard of. any one with info on it?

Thanks for replies! They’re all greatly appreciated!

Anyone know anything about blood clots?

I asked this earlier and someone mentioned it might be a blood clot, but they weren’t sure so if anyone knows about blood clots please give your opinion. Okay so Saturday I woke up with pain in my achilles tendon area right above my heel and it was slightly red. the pain and swelling has gotten worse day by day and the small area of redness has turned into a large area of reddish purple bruising and it itches. Any ideas on what this could be. I live on a small military base and I went to the clinic and the nurse (no doctors) said she didn’t know what it was but she would refer me to the ER at the military hospital 45 miles away. I asked her if she thought it was necessary to go to the ER and she said because of liability issues she can’t answer that question so I just don’t know what to do.
