Avulsion Fracture: Brett Favre’s Injury Could Snap Snap Viking QB’s Streak
Avulsion fracture, Brett Favre’s injury, could snap viking QB’s streak An avulsion fracture (broken bones in his ankle) caused Favre to limp during the end of the Vikings 28-24 loss Sunday Night against Green Bay. Favre’s ankle was a major issue this offseason–he injured it late last year–and surgery was required. The elbow tendonitis that bothered him and the Jenn Sterger scandal set the …

Could it be Lupus???? Any Doctors?

Ok, well to start off I’m a 16 year old female and I’ve had a lot of odd symptoms. For example I’ve been diagnosed with severe vertigo which i have to take an anti vertigo medication i also have constant ringing in my ears my entire life. Since i was about 7 or 8 I’ve had unexplained joint pains, in both wrists. Its very painful i cant really move my hand or put pressure on it and I can tell for sure it isn’t a sore muscle considering I’ve had it for 8 or 9 years and it comes and goes every few months and it usually lasts about a week. I’ve gone to the doctors about it and said it could be tendinitis but he doubts it. I’ve also had times where my knees, calves, and ankles hurt too, that lasted for about two months. Its wasn’t an injury though it came out of no where and it was painful to do athletic stuff like running. It would make it worse and the muscles would get tight. Not only that but I’ve also had the same painful shock feeling in my neck. Its not like a sore muscle it feels like its down to the core like my spine. Although I’ve had a time where a disk was out of place and they had to fix it and helped with the neck pain but i thought id mention it. But the odd part is ive had 2 MRI’s one for the ear cannal and the other for my spine and everything was normal. Not only that but all my joints crack very loudly like abnormal especially in my shoulders. My friend describes it as glass breaking. I’ve been going to a specialist (the best in philly) to talk about a possibility of autoimmune inner ear disease and getting checked for Lupus. In my bloodwork I’ve had extreme abnormalities in my immune system i guess something about the 4 points he never really explained that but he said it means i have a very high risk of an autoimmune disease. So that is everything i think and I’ve read on lupus.org that there is types of lupus with tendinitis and arthritis. So if anyone can give me feed back like if you’ve had lupus or any doctors who could recommend an opinion that would be great! thanks

Based on this info, could this be tendinitis?

I recently got back from a running camp in which we ran twice daily (more than I’d been running all summer) and I noticed my ankle was swollen. The swelling is on the back around the achilles tendon and up towards the bottom of my calf. It doesn’t hurt to walk and only hurts for the first mile or so of a run. It’s been 2 weeks and I have been icing it, stretching it and taking an anti-inflammatory. Could it be tendinitis or is it something else?
Also, the pain isn’t in the area of the swelling. It’s farther up the calf on the outside or directly on the front of my ankle. and the side of my heel (on the inside of my foot) hurts too

What could be wrong with my knee?

Last week, I was standing up while reaching over my bed for something, and instead of bending at both of my knees, I only bent at my right knee and not my left because I was wearing my walking boot for tendonitis that I have in my left ankle. I kept my left leg completely straight, and it kind of bent inward. I didn’t hear any cracking or any sounds at all, but I think I actually did that two or three days in a row last week. I am feeling the pain from it this week though. It started a few days ago, and it is really bothering me. Even when I am lying in bed, it hurts. I have been icing it and resting it as much as I can, but I am a busy college student, so that is not that feasible. I don’t know what to do for it or what I could have even done in the first place. Do you think it is seriously injured? What should I do? Should I go to the ER? Could they even do anything? Thank you for your help.=)

What could be causing my joint pain?

I have seen my personal physician, a hand surgeon, a chiropractor, and a rheumatologist for this, and none of them can figure out what is wrong with me. I have been tested twice for Lyme, lupus, and arthritis, and all three have come back negative both times. I’m a 22 year old female with no history of severe injury or health problems.

Several months ago the joints on the left side of my body suddenly started to hurt. Most affected were my left wrist and knee, both of which have been injured in the past – tendonitis in my wrist two years ago, mild knee injury six months ago, but neither had given me problems till then. Also affected were my shoulder, elbow, knuckles, and ankle. The pain comes and goes in waves. Exercise and movement seem to make it worse, though staying still does not make it better. It gets worse all the time despite my taking a prescription anti inflammatory every day. The doctors have given me no painkillers. (Out of room for question, will add more details.)
It is severe to the point where I get very little sleep anymore, and have little appetite. I’ve lost five pounds in the last three days (I have very fast metabolism, but this is still abnormal for me). It does not hurt all the time, but when it does I am unable to focus and generally incapacitated if I am at work (I am a secretary). I have been limping regularly as putting weight on my left leg seems to make it worse. In the last few days my right leg has also started hurting, and the pain has started to spread out from the knees all the way to my feet and groin. My right arm is completely fine so far.

I’ve no idea if it’s relevant, but I do have other chronic health problems. I have mild-moderate asthma, vocal chord dysfunction, chronic dry eye, and acid reflux. I have suffered from a chronic stiff neck accompanied by pain for years, though I’ve always assumed that was caused by stress.

If anyone has any idea what might be causing this pain, please tell me. Thank you.
Appropriately enough, I have forgotten to mention a few other symptoms that I have been experiencing: short-term memory loss, difficulty concentrating, and confusion/disorientation, as well as muscle spasms and occasional pins-and-needles tingling in my fingertips. I’ve no idea if all of this is related or perhaps just due to sleep deprivation. The rheumatologist also mentioned to me that my blood tests showed that there is no inflammation.

The rheumatologist suggested that my pain is caused by tendinitis, though he gave no explanation as to how I would suddenly develop tendinitis all over my body without having engaged in any notable physical activity. There is no swelling or other outward physical symptoms, and my family has been very unsupporting, implying that I may be faking this for attention – this is incredibly difficult to deal with and I’m desperate to find a solution. I appreciate the suggestions so far, thanks very much to all who can help.

What could really be wrong with my ankle?

3 weeks ago I posted a question:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AlasVewiZJ4oiVBvcbxmlCjty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090212084404AA6oHA6.

The next day I go to the doctor and she says I have Tendinitis in my ankle. However I am taking the medication she gave me to help with the pain and inflammation, however it doesn’t see to work.

now my ankle hurts more and gets stiff at some points. I tried wrapping it and putting one of those icy hot patches to help with the pain and tightness but that doesn’t seem to help.

The pain is right above and below my left ankle, and wraps around to the back and down the side of my left ankle.

Any suggestions on what could be wrong with it?

I don’t think it is broken but could it really be Tendinitis
odd.

tried my own link and it says the question was deleted. but when I go to my profile it hasnt been removed

I ran a 1/2 Marathon and now my Achilles hurts terribly! Could I have pulled/tore/tweaked it?

I have been training for the ING Georgia 1/2 Marathon since the beginning of the year, nearly 4 months. I was typically sore after training especially towards the end, but i never had any injuries. Well I ran the 1/2 Marathon last weekend and afterward i stretched, ate lunch, then drove 2 hours back home. It is now Tuesday night, nothing is sore, except my ACHILLES TENDON on my left foot (not my dominant ankle). It feels similar to the pain I felt when I pulled my hamstring a year ago. I don’t think I tore my Achilles tendon because I am still walking and even running a little.

My Achilles just hurts so bad. Is there a stretch I can do to make it feel better? it seems to only be comfortable when I am standing straight up without putting any weight on it.

Could I have pulled it, tweaked it at least. Should I see my doctor or just wait it out?

could this be achilles tendon injury…?

my 12 year old son is a soccer player, he is on the field either practice or games everyday, when we came home from his game today he complained of his ankle hurting more so than usual, he has complained of it before but never made a big deal, so i check it out and on the back of his ankle (achilles area) he has a medium sized lump and slight bruising on the outside of his ankle, i called the doc, she sent him for an x ray to make sure of no fractures, that came back good, no fracture, but being that it’s saturday that is as far as we got! he can walk on it, has some pain when he does, but i am just wondering what the lump could be??

I have pain in the back of my heel. Does anyone know what could be causing it?

The pain is on the back of my right heel. When it bothers me my heel on the back feels bruised. It also looks like there could be some inflamation there. I hurt my achilles tendon hiking about 9 months ago and felt like it healed but just recently it started bothering me again. I am just wondering if it could be because of the earlier injury or something different.
