I ran a 1/2 Marathon and now my Achilles hurts terribly! Could I have pulled/tore/tweaked it?
I have been training for the ING Georgia 1/2 Marathon since the beginning of the year, nearly 4 months. I was typically sore after training especially towards the end, but i never had any injuries. Well I ran the 1/2 Marathon last weekend and afterward i stretched, ate lunch, then drove 2 hours back home. It is now Tuesday night, nothing is sore, except my ACHILLES TENDON on my left foot (not my dominant ankle). It feels similar to the pain I felt when I pulled my hamstring a year ago. I don’t think I tore my Achilles tendon because I am still walking and even running a little.
My Achilles just hurts so bad. Is there a stretch I can do to make it feel better? it seems to only be comfortable when I am standing straight up without putting any weight on it.
Could I have pulled it, tweaked it at least. Should I see my doctor or just wait it out?
My achilles hurts a lot, it feels like it is getting caught on something on my ankle. Why?
I injured my achilles tendon(right foot) about a year ago. I had finished a day of skiing and my friend took my ski boot off but instead of pulling the heal of the boot up she pulled straight, I felt a pop and it all went from there. I was doing physiotherapy for 3 or 4 months and returned to sports when i was finished my physio. This year i hurt my left foot. Now this year i have been playing volleyball quite competitively and soccer as well. Last year the pain went from my heel to the top of my calf. The pain now is like more or less pinpointed to one spot although I do feel a stretch from my achilles. After i point my foot downward it locks and I get a very sharp pain around my heal and ankle. It takes 10 or so minutes to stretch it out. I can still walk, but sometimes it does hurt. On a scale of 1-10 of pain, at its worst it is probably an 8.
If you have an ideas of what it could be then please please let me know.
or any suggestions.
the pain hurts on my heel!!!?
during a baskbetball game, i was running back and forth and for some reason, my left heel of my foot started to hurt like crazy. i thought it would go away in a while but the pain increased everytime i started to run.
the pain is around the whole heel plus a little below the achilles tendon
it has been like 3 weeks and its not going away. I joined the basketball team and i need to get it back to normal fast.
My Achillies tendon hurts in morning, feels better at night. But repeats process next day. Help?
Ok so basically I have no idea how this happened, but one morning I woke up with my ankle hurting a little bit. More accurately the upper part of my Achilles tendon it seems. The next day it hurt a little bit more, and I found it increasingly difficult to walk. The day after the pain was pulsating in ankle/tendon area and it was near impossible to walk whilst first getting out of bed in the morning. Strangely enough after several agonizing hours of caring for my ankle with an ice pack then setting down for a while, I find at night it feels a lot better, to the point I can walk like I normally can.
However the next day, the same bloody process repeats, and I wake up with a leg I can barely walk on! The pain my tendon/ankle is just to much to bear I have to stagger slowly around the house. However as I type this message, it is about 12 at midnight, and the last few hours its been really easy to walk once again like I can normally.
Although, I think I will find when I wake up the next morning, it will be the same process.
So what do you guys think?

Back of foot hurts when walking (Achilles Tendon?)?
I’m not in any athletics just P.E. class everyother day and we don’t really do anything that is rigorous. Anyways today I was walking during passing periods and the back of my foot started to hurt and I thought it would go away but it just kept getting worse. I made it to my math class and sat down. Once I sat down I felt no pain, I could move my foot and I didn’t feel any pain. Then about 30 minutes later I had to walk to the cafeteria for lunch and I barely made it. The back of my foot really started hurting. It felt like the muscle was like grinding on my bone or something, I’m not sure but I think it’s called the achilles tendon. What is weird is it just happened out of the blue and I didn’t do any type of physical activity that was any different from what I usually do either. I was born with tight leg muscles and I was thinking maybe my calf muscle got too tight (I haven’t stretched them in a while) and is causing the pain. What should I do? Ice it, heat it, stay off of it? Also like I said it only hurts when I walk and do the heal to toe movement. It doesn’t hurt to just stand or sit or move my foot. Thanks
I play tennis. My achilles tendon hurts. What’s going on?
I’ve had tennis practice (i’m a beginner) all this week. Then all of a sudden, my achilles tendon in my right foot started to hurt. And my foot bone (in the heel below the tendon) started to hurt. I don’t know if if was the actual bone or if it was a part of the tendon. At every practice, we have to run 2 laps around a small park, do tennis stuff, then sprinting. I’ve used the ankle brace (stretchy kind) on my foot. I don’t know if it is supposed to help. It doesn’t help with the pain. Do I have tendonitis? I’ve never had it before. What should I do?
By the way, I’ve been wearing new tennis shoes. But I think I’ve broken into them already. But when I wear them, I feel lots of pressure on my heels of my feet.
Achilles tendon hurts. What should i do?
Here’s the story:
I was playing basketball a few days ago. I was dribbling down court and came to a jump stop. When I came to that jump stop, my right foot slipped forward, and I think that caused my achilles tendon to stretch out. I didn’t notice the pain until i was doing some shooting where i have to jump.
So it’s been 3 days now, and it is not as bad as the 1st day after the injury. It hurts when i jump, and it hurts when i do calf raises.
Is this serious? What should i do?
my achilles tendon hurts really bad and i dont know why?
yesterday i just woke up and it was hurting but the pain died down throughout the day…this morning when i woke up i’m in worst pain…i can barely walk. i havent done anything our of my daily routine. i play tennis but i havent played in over 3 weeks. i dont know what it is.
I ran in the pf chang 1/2 marathon last weekend and now my ankle hurts. there was no obvious injury during?
the event and didn’t really start hurting until after lunch. It starts on the outside of my ankle and goes about halfway down the sole of my footon the outside. There is no tenderness to touch or noticable swelling. could this just be tendinitis?
