I take a long time to heal and I am very fragile…could it be a symptom?
I got a concussion two months ago and it still has not healed. I didn’t even hit my head that hard.
I was diagnosed in february with mild tendinitis, still has not healed. The dr said it would take about a month for it to heal…
My friend dropped a 100 pg paperback book on my hand from about 3 feet above me and it swelled up for a few days.
I twisted my ankle and it took a month to heal.
It seems that I always get hurt by the stupidest things and they don’t heal. Could there be something wrong with me?
I bruise super easily and things swell up like crazy.
The ankle took 2 months to heal. sorry.
how long does it take to heal an achilles tendinitis?
i dance ballet and we tip toe a lot. i think i have achilles tendinitis and i don’t know how to heal it. i don’t know if it’s worse but i don’t think so. i can still stand on my toes and go up the stairs but after sleeping, i feel pain the next day. only on my left foot. when i tap my ankle, it kinda hurts. and there’s a popping like sound or creaking when i raise it or rise to my toes. it’s not red and swelling. i don’t know how to heal it. can i just rest for a week and start doing my activities? or should i rest for a month?
How long would I have to stop running with these injuries?
I have ankle tendinitis, shin splints, and a stress fracture. Yes all at the same time. My luck sucks. Would I miss this whole Cross Country season (Missed 2 weeks so far and it ends in beginning of November) ? Should I just give up hoping to get better, because if I do I won’t be at my best anyway. It’s my last year and I don’t want to be out the whole season.
VERY long story but im looking for an answer?
ok this is long and im relly sorry ha but if yu can read it and if theres anything yu think mighhhht be the problem, something yu can name i will look it up thanks!
ok hi im 13 years old, and for the past 2ish years ive had leg problems.
around 2 years ago i landed from a cartwheel wrong on my lawn, and getting it x-rayed found out it was sprained. so i watched dance for 6 months, rested it took motrin iced it elevated it blah blah blah yu kno tht stuff oh and i used crutches. after that i got shin splints from starting track. then i got tight hamstrings and achilles tendons, flat feet, plantar ficiitis, my ankles are at a wrong angle, like they are two far back, a random pain in the ball of my 1 foot for awhile that felt like pins and needles (it went away after a couple of weeks) and now sometimes knee pain, oh and i sprained my toe at a masquerade ball ha. it all jumps around, like 1 minute my left heel is hurting, the next its my right shin. kinda confusing. ive seen two orthopedics recently, (though another one wen i sprained ankle).
the first 1 (jennifer) said my achilles/hamstrings were tight, flat feet, and all of that. she sent me for physical therapy, i went for a month and 1/2 and they didnt reallllly get better. just a little. i had blood work done, i had x-rays of the tibia fibia, i stopped dancing during therapy and i havent been able to run track since the shin splints cause i cant run…my dance recital was 1 month after therapy so i did it and it was horrible i was on my feet dancing ALL day… LITERALLY. 3 recitals and dress rehearsal and practicing backstage. ok so i saw another ortho (i actually forget his name LOL so ill call him john) he didnt know what to tell me said tht my legs werent tight anymore and didnt really help. my mom told him tht jennifer said since therapy didnt work and she was confused she wuld recomend a bone scan (which she did she gave me a number for it, she works for the childrens hospital of philadelphia) and he said ok well tht wont show anything but idk wat else to do so here and he gave me a paper for it do but he thinks it wont show anything. so its been a few weeks and ive been swimmin a little and riding my bike like every day and they usually feel fine UNLESS i try to a: run or b: dance): or prob walk alot. they used to hurt every single day and like every moment and it was hard to walk on my toes, now only sometimes. BUT i still cant run or dance!! and dance starts in september! so im trying to figure out whats wrong before then? should i take the bone scan? should i go to a hospital in Dupont Delaware? PLEASE if this sounds like anything yu kno of or somethin please tell me and help im desperateeee):
p.s. im really sorry its so long i was just trying to tell yu everything and hopefully it wasnt that confusing and please no crap answers im looking for something real!
and thank you for reading it and answering
hi again lol sorry but i just remembered something else. the doctors said they thought maybe my bones grew faster then my body or tendons or whatever..
How long do sprained ankles normally take to heal, and what is the longest it should take to heal?
I sprained my ankle the day after Memorial Day, so it has been close to 5 months since I was hurt. It is still normal for it to hurt everyday? I have been through 6 weeks of physical therapy and was told to continue to use it as I normally would but in moderation. I am a runner so I started to get back into running again. The pain started to get worse so I haven’t ran in a couple weeks. I know ice and elevation are good to help the healing process. I have Achille’s tendonitis (inflammation in my Achille’s tendon) so I have pain in my Achilles also. Any help on this pain? I was told it would only take 6-8 weeks to heal, I didn’t know it would take 5 months. Is this normal? For the most part, the pain is not localized, it varies in different places of my foot. I haven’t had any tests besides X-rays done, and they showed nothing. I was told if it gets worse to have an MRI done, but most doctors just tell me it is ok for it to this long. Is all of this normal?
The most agonizingly brutal and strenuously long way to kill someone…ever?
I’m writing a script for a Terminator spoof I’m doing and I have a scene in which The Terminator talks about what he enjoys.
Currently, the scene reads as follows
THE TERMINATOR
I prefer watching a helpless victim
screaming in laborious pain as I
carve out his appendix with a razor
blade. I then retrieve a hacksaw
from my torture implements and
begin to amputate his limbs, but
stop midway and drag him behind an
automobile across a gravel driveway
by a piece of barbed wire in his
left Achilles tendon. Afterward, I
puncture the kidneys, leaving him
unable to scream, just before I
drive a large metal spike into his
esophagus with an industrial-grade
sledgehammer.
I need something longer, more agonizing, more sadistic, and more brutal to use here. As we all know, a Terminator speaks in extremely technical terms, so please…you know, speak technically.
Thanks.
How long will it take to recover?! Please help.?
Okay, so I’ve been running 10 miles since last week. Before that, for a long time I have been running usually 4 miles a day. Here and there, I’ll get aches and pains, but I make sure to always walk before running, then stretch, then walk and then start running (gradually increasing my pace.)
Usually I don’t have a lot of pains lately, surprisingly, since I started running 10 miles a day last week. It feels really great, and as long as I can do it, I want to keep it up. It’s been helping me get in better shape. I feel kinda crappy when I can’t do it, though, because I enjoy it so much…
The thing is, yesterday I was running and for some odd reason one of my feet started hurting like in the middle… I have sort of flat feet, so I wear arches, just so you know. I’m not sure if that’s the issue, though because I always wear arches when I run. Anyway, I figure if I take it easy, it’ll get better. I used some heat on it and I will continue to. But as I was running today, I think my Achilles tendon or maybe just a joint in the lower back of my leg started to hurt, (when I run and go up/down the stairs). I have no idea why it started to hurt, either!!! Ugh! I did things how I usually do, walking, stretching. So what happened?! And two days ago, I stopped running so much because I was super tired and dehydrated that day, so I only did 2 miles. The next day, when my foot started to hurt, (but before it started to hurt), I did 6 miles… and today 2 miles, because both foot/leg were hurting.
I’ve been in worse pain, so I feel like it’ll take a couple days maybe to get better, but I’m not really sure. I don’t want to stop running for a long time, and I just get down when I can’t run ’cause I enjoy it.
So, my question is, what do you think I might have done wrong? What could I do better? And how long do you think it will take to recover from this and what do you think I hurt, exactly?
Thanks.
Excessive ankle popping long after injury healed?
Last year I felt a sharp pain in my ankle when I was walking. There was no noise or feeling of tearing or snapping, so I thought it was just a sprain. After reading a bit on ankle injuries, it kind of sounds like it could have been a partial achilles tendon rupture, but it might have just been a sprain. About two weeks after this happened my ankle started popping alot with movement. Its been about 9 months now, and even right now when I move my ankle around or walk there’s a few fairly loud pops with each movement. No pain associated with it. The ankle feels stable, although I haven’t tried working out since this happened. Any ideas what this could be from? I read that surgery is the best way to repair ruptured tendons ( assuming that’s what I had happen ) but that you have to get it done right away, and self healed tendons are usually susceptible to recurring ruptures. Is there any point in going to get this looked at even though it’s been 9 months since it happened?
How long does side effects to Levaquin, Tequin, Cipro last?
A few years ago I took a small doe or Tequin or Levaquin I cant remember. I didnt like how it made me feel so the doctor called in a rX for Cipro which is in the same drug class. Now here it is years later and I suffer from all these weird neurological and musculoskeltal symptoms. I have never had the classic “achilles tendon rupture” most people talk about with Levaquin but I do have painful tendons in both arms where it conects to my shoulder for the past few weeks. It seems I have popping sounds in all my joints. I have visual snow which is hard to explain, painful skin sensations once in awhile, I have had tingling, numbness, burning sensations, warm sensations on the skin, I have pretty constant muscle twitching or fasiculations. The doctors all say its just stress and anxiety. I dont believe them. The thing is my pain moves. I will get better from a pain or strange sensation only to develop another. Its just weird.
If anyone reading this has true flouroquinolone poisoning, does your pain move or do you just have constant pain in areas that have been damaged?
chronic leg pain? help! (long, please read.)?
Hi all, about six months ago (June), I woke up in the middle of the night from a severe pain in my back which also travelled down to my left leg. This happened a few days before my high school graduation, which caused me to wear a back brace to my rehearsals.
The back pain eventually went away, however, it stayed in my left leg. It went away for a couple weeks afterwards, but then I felt sharp pains in my achilles tendon, still on my left leg. The pain, over time, eventually travelled up my leg, causing my whole left leg to hurt 24/7. The pain is now traveling up to the left side of my hip and on the bottom part of my abdomen, and even my achilles tendon in my right leg is starting to hurt. It has been ongoing for six months.
I’ve tried everything– taking ibuprofin, bengay, icyhot, bed rest, even exercise (sometimes that helps joint pain for me). I do get a normal amount of exercise, I eat healthy, and I stretch.
I’m finally going to the doctor’s within the next couple of weeks, but I’m sick of waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to walk for a certain amount of time. Does anybody have any idea of what this could be? Please provide a website/legitimate source.
Thank you in advance.
PS, I do not have flat feet.
