Trail Blazers 2011 preview: Pain and suffering
If it seemed as if every time you turned on the TV last year, there was another Portland Trail Blazers player writhing around on the court with an injury or walking off the court with assistance from a member of the training staff … well, you weren’t too far off. …
Ignore daily heel pain at your peril
Ignore daily heel pain at your peril
Left untreated, plantar fasciitis can turn into a chronic condition As if the first steps out of bed in the morning aren’t torturous enough already, many people suffer stabbing pains in their feet as they limp their way to the bathroom.
Excruciating pain in Achilles tendon when running?
Unlike others, I never ever get stitches in my ribs or my abdomen – and the pain is the only thing that slows me down. It feels like the tendon is being burnt and pulled apart at the same time.
Running is very important to me, guys, so how do I stop and/ or prevent the pain?

Help! Pain in ankle but no swelling/bruising…?
I play soccer and ever since Monday during practice, my ankles have been killing me. There is a slight difference in that the left is in a bit more pain then the right, but they are pretty much equal. The first day, the pain was not so bad and it subsided within an hour. However, I have been playing soccer every day and each day I do, the pain becomes greater and lasts longer (last night I was up until one a.m. because the pain was keeping me from sleep). There is no swelling or bruising, and I can roll my ankles, but it just hurts extremely badly to run or walk. I feel like some of the pain is coming from my Achilles tendon, but I’m not sure. The pain is almost at the point where it is unbearable to walk, but I don’t know if I should just rest it or keep going.
so…..what is the matter with my ankles? thanks so much!
help me cure my knee pain? tendonitis!!?
so i over trained last xc season(went from never running in my life to 12 miles a day, atleast 5 days a week)..and i never took time off to recover from my injuries, i just ran through them.
same with track. i had xc practice in the morning, track after school, then i ran on my own.
this summer i was forced to take off and heal. i did, and lost alot of muscle doing so(i also went on extreme dieting, which i now regret). so my times were really slow when i started running 2 weeks ago. i didnt over train though, about 2-3 miles a day, thats it.but then i got tendonitis in my knee!! i took a week off and thought it healed, but i had a really short run today and my knee is hurting again! before, my injuries were mainly in my ankles/calves, no real probs with my knee.
how do i stop this? prevent it? what cures tendonitis? how do i run through it?
the other kids on the team have been running all summer and already competing!! i havent run at all and am so out of shape!! how do i get in shape quicker so i dont look so slow at meets?
thanks!
Brother wore high heels, too much pain?!??! Stunt growth??? Idk..?
Ok, I have four brothers(ya i know, im the only girl :/) and I’m the shortest of the three(not the fourth
). So, i wear high heels all the time. Now, my second younger brother, Samir, was sick of me wearing ‘heels all the time because it always made a noise. So, we had a bet: He said that if he wore high heels for three days straight with no medical issues, then I have to stop wearing them for a month. He wanted me to be in pain too by making me wear flats for three days. So our bet began, then ended. So, hes basically a cross country runner and apparently his mile time decreased tremendously(it was like 6:30 but now its like 7:10) apparently, this made him very disappointed. So i continued wearing high heels(and yes, he lost) so then, he kept complaining that the bottom of his toes hurt(mainly the big fat one aka the thumb) and whenever he runs, his achilles tendon hurts. But the pain for the the tendon decreased, but the pain for the toes comes randomly(whether he runs or not). So he wont stop bugging me and he called me a legend for wearing 5″ heels all the time(I know, im that amazing!) he asked if i can ask everyone if there is any solution. he also is about 12 1/2 so i know he went through puberty and he got talller than me by like 3 inches.(Not with my ‘heels on
) so now, he’s also afraid that he stunt his growth. So, does ‘heels stun his growth? Because guys are not meant for heels, mainly girls.(no offense) so i really dont care about my height, but he is scared so did this affect his growing? I’m thinking of having another bet of him wearing them but im scared if i hurt him too much. He keeps complaining about the bottom of his toes. My high heels are wedged and lether black with straps. So, there is a weird black flower on it and it acts like a strap. There are also a strap right near the bottom of the toes. In order to wear them, you have to get two straps and connect them like a belt for jeans. the strap on the back probably hurt his achiles tendon but im not sure about the toe pain, there are straps for the toes but it doesnt hurt me. May b his shoe size is too big? he wears tens for boys but i wear 6 1/2 for girls. at first it was 5″ red stileto heels but i felt bad so i gave him my 3″ ones(its the one i jus said, the wedge black 1) wedges are made for more comfort, stiletos usually hurt more but apparently the black wedge 1 hurt him. so, please answer all my questions so i cud torture him more!
jus kidding, i really care about him so help me out
