Pain/Injury in my foot from running?

Okay so I am a distance runner in cross country season at the moment. We are a very serious team running every single day ranging between 6 and 15 miles a day. I know overtraining causes injury but my coach is insistant on this training schedule and I guess our team just bears it for a few months. My past injuries include lower back problems, runners knee (tendonitis in my patella), and my current problems include IT band syndrome, shin splints (but ive had them for 2 and a half years now), posterior tibial tendonitis, and now this foot pain. I have been researching online and I am not sure what I have. It’s on the forefront of my foot I believe, and if you go from the knobby ankle bone on the outside of the foot and go straight towards the toes about 2 in, there are a cluster of tendons or ligaments or something there and that’s where the pain is. It’s like the little squishy part of the foot (that’s the only other way I can describe it. It’s swollen right now and has been for about 12 hours. I ran in a meet, if anyone knows Manhattan Invite that was the meet, and it didn’t hurt during the race but it started hurting during my cooldown and has hurt since. I can walk on it if I put the weight on the outside of my foot, but not if I am walking normally. It also hurts to move it in a circle. That’s all I can think of, If you have any ideas please tell me I need to make it throught another month and a half of the season. Also, if it will help at all I do pronate, but I got custom orthotics when I was diagnosed with the tibial tendonitis (and It actually made that go away). Possibilities I found online were anterior tibial tendoinitis or just an ankle sprain/strain, but I wasn’t exactly sure if where my foot it and where those tendons/ligaments are matched up. Thanks for your help, sorry this was so long.
**If you see a repeat of this it’s because I am asking this question in two categories

Indeshaw Adenaw about Common Running Injuries

They fear that their run can cause them injuries which for them it means taking a break of running. There are different tips on what injuries to avoid and how to avoid them. Few years ago, there came out a study that suggests what certain sports injuries that can cause you your enthusiasm in your hobbies and statistically they found out that there is a condition that is experienced by most likely, women. Patellofemoral pain syndrome is a kind of knee pain that is suffered by women. By means of coming out with this kind of study; training adjustments are needed to keep your leg or muscles in shape always.

Charles Vo for example can suffer from Achilles tendinitis, a tenderness that usually hurts you when you push off your foot, in the lower calf close to your heel, if he has a BMI of 25 who actually loves to run. It is simply because it absorbs the body weight with each and every step of yours. Prevent it by means of keeping your calf muscles in shape and stretch them regularly.

‘Indy’ Adenaw on the other hand can have a break in running because of having a medial tibial stress syndrome which is in fact a person feels pain and discomfort or shinsplints in the front side of the lower leg. It is primary because the connective tissue that feels discomfort onto the arch of your foot with your shinsplints. It can be easily prevented by wearing motion controlled sneakers and continue to shape to muscles and if symptoms persists, you must consult your doctor and proceed with a bone scan.

Patellar tendinitis is one of the running injuries that can be leaving you to no choice but take a break and rest. In jumping and running exercises, the patellar tendon helps your leg extend. Too much extension can lead your tendon to be created in small tears. It may cost you many years in order to recover and having extra body weight does not help you in recovering. The best advisable way is to keep in check with your body weight and regular exercise. Doing squats can make your patellar tendon strong. Regular stretching of quads and hamstrings will also help in preventing this injury.

Having extra weight can add to the burden of the hips in carrying a heavier load and it add pressure to the IT band and can leave a runner’s knee injured. It is actually an inflammation of the group of fibers that are located in the top of the shin in your knee. You can prevent it by providing your muscles enough exercise to give them enough strength. It is actually an injury relative to women who are in fact has a BMI of 21 and the women who do long hours of run and those who do hill runs.

So keep your muscles and weight in check and remember it is much easy to prevent rather than to recover from an injury or worst curing it.

Pain on my legs prevents me from running?

Ok to be specific, the muscles that are causing my pain are my Achilles tendons and Peroneus Brevis.

It is not a cramping feeling, but its more like a shaky tingly feeling. Whenever I run, every step feels weird, like I am about to fall down.

I talked to my sergeant about this, he was like “your body is adapting to your intense training, take 1-2 days off”. I took 4 days off and this is my 4th day. There is no pain when I walk but it revs up when I run.

Main vitamins I take are: D3 (calcium magnesium zinc), dL-Alpha (vitamin e), CoD (liver oil)
Supplements: OxyElite pro

What should I do now? I start my training again tomorrow :s
BTW for me to use oxy on my training tells you that I am doing a killer workouts. The majority of it are cardio based, I wouldn’t want my muscles to be used as energy :p

How long would I have to stop running with these injuries?

I have ankle tendinitis, shin splints, and a stress fracture. Yes all at the same time. My luck sucks. Would I miss this whole Cross Country season (Missed 2 weeks so far and it ends in beginning of November) ? Should I just give up hoping to get better, because if I do I won’t be at my best anyway. It’s my last year and I don’t want to be out the whole season.

My running shoes give me blisters. Is this a problem?

My left leg is crooked. It’s not a big deal or otherwise disabling. But because my leg’s crooked, my left shoe always rubs a big fat blister across my Achilles. I put moleskin or bandaids or, my favorite, little corn pads on the trouble spot, and I wear different styles of shoes and all. But the blister’s always there. My ankle’s scarred and calloused and bleedy, but I’m mostly used to it and keep running. But I’m running around forty miles a week as I train for a marathon, and I’m beginning to worry that all the friction is stressing the tendon. Am I worried for no reason? I don’t have any pain beyond the skin issue.

I have a running problem?

I used to run all the time, and became really good at it… I would run about 5-6 miles every day… After a while I decided I wanted to pack on a little bit of muscle mass so I traded in my running for weight lifting. (i did do a little work on a stationary bike twice a week.. but nothing major). I did this for about 3 months and decided I wanted to pick up running again to tone myself up… Well, I have never had this problem but I just started last week and on the first day my legs immediately starting hurting… and they were soar all the next day and the day after so I decided to hold off… today they felt better so i went back to the gym and i hadnt been on the tredmill but 5 minutes and the pain just kicked right back on…. this has never happened to me before even after a long time off…i always switch up from running for a few months to weight lifting… i dont know the exact term but the area is on the lower part of my back legs.. like, right where my calf ends and my achilles tendon begins.. and what bothers me is the problem is on both legs.. i ran 2.5 miles today and my legs have been tight and killing me all day.. does anybody know why this is?? and why its in that area of my legs?

top of foot and ankle hurt after running?

hi, I am 18 years old. i have a problem sprinting around the block (555 m perimeter – measured with google earth lol)

So, around 4-5 times a week i sprint around the aforementioned block once or twice in order to help my sinus problems. I go full speed. I do not get tired at all. However, around mid way, my ankles and feet begin to pain, especially the left one. By the time i reach the end of the lap, I cannot move my foot up (i can stand on my toes-still very painful-but I can’t point my left foot upwards). So basically, I can barely walk after this – as my right foot hurts and my left foot severely hurts. I used to be flat footed, but got rid of it through yoga exercises my grandma taught me. However, my arches are still low and i consider them weak (hard for me to stand on one foot sometimes even). I was thinking that the Achilles tendon in my left foot especially may be short? Or maybe my gait is wrong? Another thing is that when i wake up in the morning, my ankles and feet are very stiff. One last thing, when i compare the arches on my feet, the right one is higher than the left one. Is that bad?

By the way, this pain doesnt really happen after say I play an hour of basketball then go sprinting. But it does also happen when i jog at a medium pace for half a mile and up.

What can be the problem and is there any way to fix this?

thank you very much for any help
I can provide other details that may help too.

Running and Tendinitis?

I went to a doc some 5 years ago for heel pain and basically I have Haglund’s Deformity which is a sharp projection on the back of your bone of your heel which puts bad pressure on your achilles tendon.

He said surgery is the only “real” option but thats a last resort. He recommended anti-inflammatory medicine.

Does anybody else have this disorder? I take 3 Ibuprofens before I run and it definately seems to help. One thing I have just realized however is that the more frequently I run, the less it bothers me.

For example, If I used to run 3-4 times a week, with a day or two days inbetween runs. When I’d start up again the pain is just bearable enough to run (It hurts really bad the first mile and then slowly cools down).

I try to run 5 days straight now, and ironically it feels better every day. This just blows my mind (I suppose I’m stretching the tendon and calves out and not giving them a chance to tighten up again).

So I’m putting 20-25 miles a week on them. Is it possible this is worse for them in the long run?

Has anybody else with Haglund’s or a similar tendinitis problem
remedied the problem by run frequency?

Thanks

Calves hurt so much when running?

So today for xc practice I had to run 6 miles which I’ve done before with no pain.
But today, after only a couple miles, my lower calves (mostly my achilles tendon) on both legs was killing me. I had to walk parts of it which really sucked because I’ve 1)I’ve done it before and 2) I wasn’t even out of breath or tired yet.
What should I do? I’m not out of shape, so don’t say that. I’ve been running at least 2 or 3 times a week for the past few years, and in the past 2 months I’ve been running 6x a week.
Could it be the way I’m running? Like, my form or something?
Please help…
I don’t think it’s the pavement because when we run on grass, or even surfaces that are just kind of uneven, my ankles and calves KILL (which really sucks since cross country courses are basically all on grass).
And yeah, we run 6 miles straight (a couple people ran 10 miles today :O )

How to get rid of running pains?

Now, before I get into much detail about the pains, I would like to explain what has happened to me. I have had to quit track for 3 years in a row because of injuries, which were shin splints, an aggravated Achilles tendon, and finally, a stress fracture on my heel.
All summer I was in physical therapy, and now that I try to run again, I have pains everywhere. The pain will be in my heel some days, hips others, knees, and even my shins. The pain is quite bad, and I have trouble running through it. Keep in mind, I am only 14.
I wear Merrell Running shoes, and I stretch before I run. Is there anything I can do to get rid of my pains?
I haven’t seriously ran in about 5 months.
